I have always been drawn to the law, but over time, that interest grew into something more meaningful, a passion for advocacy and helping people navigate difficult moments. I value taking the time to listen, understand the bigger picture, and approach challenges with thoughtfulness, strategy, and care.
Before beginning my legal career, I spent seven years in retail and customer service, which taught me the value of listening, building trust, and connecting with people from all walks of life. I later spent six years as a Docket Specialist, where I developed a keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.
My interest in labor and employment law grew during law school, particularly through my work with the Ronald A. Peterson Law Clinic’s Workers’ Rights Clinic. Working directly with clients allowed me to put my legal education into practice while strengthening my advocacy skills through client-centered representation, strategic thinking, and creative problem-solving. More importantly, I learned how rewarding it can be to help people understand their options, navigate unfamiliar challenges, and feel supported throughout the process. The experience solidified my interest in labor and employment law and continues to shape the perspective I bring to my work today.
As a Latina and San Diego native, it is especially meaningful to begin my legal career in the community I have always called home. I joined Stokes Wagner because I was drawn to the firm’s commitment to its clients, collaborative culture, and thoughtful approach to advocacy.
